Suncoast skates past Royal Palm Beach with ease

The Suncoast Chargers posted their biggest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They blew past Royal Palm Beach, posting a 52-13 win at home. Given Suncoast's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while Royal Palm Beach is ranked 432nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Suncoast to victory, but perhaps none more so than Philleah Bright, who scored 17 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Bright posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyana Gordon, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.

Suncoast's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-7. As for Royal Palm Beach, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Suncoast won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wellington at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Wellington is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Royal Palm Beach, they will be playing at home against Dreyfoos School of the Arts at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
