Recap: Math Civics & Sciences Mighty Elephants vs. Constitution Generals
The Math Civics & Sciences Mighty Elephants lost against the Constitution Generals back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Math Civics & Sciences fell 65-54 to Constitution. Math Civics & Sciences has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sair Alsbrooks and Milak Myatt certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Alsbrooks scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Myatt scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that Alsbrooks grabbed two or more steals. Azeem Murphy was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Constitution's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Perry Fields, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Fields is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyree Latimer, who scored 14 points.
Math Civics & Sciences' loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2. As for Constitution, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Math Civics & Sciences' road trip will continue as they head out to face Abraham Lincoln at 3:15 p.m. on December 19th. Abraham Lincoln will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 356th, while Math Civics & Sciences is ranked 99th). Constitution will take on North Catholic in a holiday battle at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday at. One thing working in North Catholic's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
