Baseball Game Preview: Walsingham Academy Trojans vs. Life Christian Academy Eagles

The Walsingham Academy Trojans will face off against the Life Christian Academy Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Walsingham Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against Brunswick Academy as they made off with a 16-2 win. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Chandler Howlett made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three RBI.

In other batting news, Walsingham Academy let Andrew Cole and Drew Weddington run wild. Cole got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base, while Weddington got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Weddington a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evan Blinn, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs.

Meanwhile, Life Christian Academy waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Kavaliers with a sharp 11-4 win.

Walsingham Academy's record is now 18-10-1. As for Life Christian Academy, their record now sits at 17-8.
