Softball Recap: Bishop Stang Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Bishop Stang had lost ten games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 3-5 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Arlington Catholic Cougars by a score of 18-15. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-7 on April 5th.

Bishop Stang let Ava Texeira and Sophia Brousseau run wild. Texeira fired off two home runs, four stolen bases, and four runs while going 3-for-5, while Brousseau fired off three triples, three runs, and two RBI while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. That's the most RBI Brousseau has posted since back in April of 2024. Rachel Ledo was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Bishop Stang kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

As for Arlington Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. On the bright side, the 15- run performance marked their highest-scoring game to date.

On Arlington Catholic's side, Annie Driscoll led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Driscoll continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Trinity Martignetti, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Stang will square off against Dartmouth at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Arlington Catholic, they will face off against Medford at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
