Volleyball Game Preview: Miami-Yoder Buffaloes vs. Elbert Bulldogs

Miami-Yoder hasn't had much luck against Elbert recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Buffaloes will square off against the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Miami-Yoder came up short against Deer Trail on Friday, falling 3-0.

While Miami-Yoder ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-18, 25-18.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Tuesday. Elbert fell 3-1 to Byers. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Elbert started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-11.

Elbert's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Miami-Yoder, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Miami-Yoder couldn't quite get it done against Elbert when the teams last played two weeks ago as they fell 3-1. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Bulldogs' Melanie Hermes, who had 23 digs and two aces. Now that the Buffaloes know the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
