Volleyball Game Preview: Central Grizzlies vs. Clovis West Golden Eagles

Central hasn't had much luck against Clovis West recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Grizzlies are taking a road trip to take on the Golden Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Central is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Clovis, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-16, 25-19.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Clovis West and Clovis North meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles lost 3-0 to the Broncos.

While Clovis West was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-14, 25-17.

Clovis West has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-10.

Central beat Clovis West 3-1 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Grizzlies since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
