Soccer Game Preview: St. Charles North vs. Naperville Central

The St. Charles North North Stars will venture away from home to square off against the Naperville Central Redhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Charles North's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

St. Charles North managed to slip by Wheaton North the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The North Stars lost 4-0 to the Falcons on Thursday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as St. Charles North came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Wheaton North are ranked 147th).

Naperville Central had taken Neuqua Valley down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Redhawks fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The loss was Naperville Central's first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Naperville Central fell to 6-1-1. As for St. Charles North, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

St. Charles North skirted past Naperville Central 2-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the North Stars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Redhawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
