Basketball Game Preview: Durand Railroaders vs. Caro Tigers

The Durand Railroaders will challenge the Caro Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

Last Thursday, Durand came up short against Saginaw United and fell 56-48.

Meanwhile, Caro hadn't done well against Millington recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Caro took down Millington 43-24. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Cardinals are ranked 509th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Caro found their leader in sophomore Shayler McIntyre, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 14 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which McIntyre has scored at least a third of Caro's points. Normandy Geiger was another key player, putting up eight points and seven rebounds.

Durand's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-6. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.8 points over those games. As for Caro, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
