Basketball Recap: Chester Takes a Loss

Chester lost against Clinton back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The game between the Chester Cyclones and the Clinton Red Devils didn't end well, with the Chester Cyclones falling 36-19. The contest marked the Cyclones' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Clinton was led to victory by Nah'Shia Wright and Bryanna Belton. Wright went 5 for 9 en route to 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals, while Belton posted seven points along with ten boards and five steals. That's the most boards Wright has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was McKenzie Clark, who had four points.

Chester has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-4 record this season. As for Clinton, their record now sits at 12-4.

Chester has already played their next contest (against Fairfield Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Clinton is taking a road trip to square off against Mid-Carolina at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. Clinton's defense has only allowed 29.7 points per game this season, so Mid-Carolina's offense will have their work cut out for them.
