Softball Recap: Granger Comes Up Short

Granger extended their losing streak to 14 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-22. They came up short against the Cyprus Pirates, falling 16-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 last Monday.

As for Cyprus, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games.

For Cyprus' part, Frankee Kelsch was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Kelsch has posted since back in March. Sydney Julio also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Coming up, Granger will face off against West at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lancers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. Cyprus does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
