Basketball Recap: Tyler Thomas' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mississippi School for the Deaf over Florida School for the Deaf & Blind

Mississippi School for the Deaf won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They lost 56-32 to the Florida School for the Deaf & Blind Dragons. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bulldogs came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 315th in Mississippi, while the Dragons are ranked 819th in Florida).

Mississippi School for the Deaf lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tyler Thomas, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Learvious Hill, who scored nine points.

Mississippi School for the Deaf's defeat dropped their record down to 3-21. As for Florida School for the Deaf & Blind, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-15 record this season.

Mississippi School for the Deaf has already played their next contest, a 49-47 loss against N.C. School for the Deaf on the 1st. As for Florida School for the Deaf & Blind, they will head out to face off against Temple Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
