Softball Game Preview: Thomas Stone Cougars vs. Calvert Cavaliers

Thomas Stone is 0-8 against Calvert since May of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Cougars will square off against the Cavaliers. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Having struggled with eight losses in a row, Thomas Stone turned things around against St. Charles on Monday. They never let St. Charles get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. Considering the Cougars' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Calvert got the win against North Point on Monday by a conclusive 9-0. The win continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.

Thomas Stone's victory bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Calvert, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.

Thomas Stone might still be hurting after the 13-1 defeat they got from Calvert when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
