Recap: Yorktown Huskers vs. Somers Tuskers
After a string of eight wins dating back to last season, The Yorktown Huskers''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost to Somers at home by a decisive 21-7 margin. Having soared to a lofty 37 points in the game before, Yorktown couldn't push the score so high this time.
Among those leading the charge was Mason Kelly, who rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
Yorktown's loss dropped their record down to 7-1. As for Somers, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Yorktown will take on Clarkstown South at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clarkstown South will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Yorktown is ranked 19th). As for Somers, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Pelham Memorial at 6:00 p.m.
