Baseball Recap: Almeta Crawford Takes a Loss

Almeta Crawford and Bellville squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Almeta Crawford had to settle for second. They lost 7-0 to the Brahmas. Considering the last time the Chargers couldn't score was back in February, the team can't take the result too hard.

Almeta Crawford got a good showing from Aiden Hernandez, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hernandez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Almeta Crawford saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shane Rourick, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

This is the second loss in a row for Almeta Crawford and nudges their season record down to 24-5-3. As for Bellville, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-15.

As of now, neither Almeta Crawford nor the Brahmas have any future games scheduled.
