Basketball Recap: West Point Warriors vs. Dora Bulldogs
The West Point Warriors lost to the Dora Bulldogs back in February of 2023, but the West Point Warriors didn't allow the Dora Bulldogs the same satisfaction on Thursday. West Point strolled past the Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 67-52. Given West Point's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 297th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Collin Abrom, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Josh Williams, who scored 14 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for West Point and bumps their season record up to 18-8. As for Dora, they now have a losing record at 11-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Point will challenge the Red Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Lawrence County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully the Warriors like a good challenge. As for Dora, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Carbon Hill is coming into the game hot, having won their last 11 games.
