Basketball Preview: Kadoka Kougars vs. New Underwood Tigers
Kadoka is 10-0 against the Tigers since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Kadoka Kougars will head out on the road to take on the New Underwood Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Kadoka is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Kadoka ended up a good deal behind the Eagles and lost 67-49. Kadoka has not had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Kadoka's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Garrett Hermann, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, and Gus Stout who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. Hermann is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Jared Nemecek was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, New Underwood can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They breezed by Crazy Horse at home to the tune of 64-34.
Kadoka's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for New Underwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Kadoka skirted past the Tigers 42-40 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kadoka since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
