Softball Recap: Ransom Everglades Comes Up Short

Ransom Everglades scored the most runs they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 28-16 to the Colonial Christian Patriots. The loss leaves the Raiders still looking for their first win of the season.

Jilly Demos-Brown stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Carvalho, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Demos-Brown wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Ransom Everglades lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Ransom Everglades' record is now 0-5. As for Colonial Christian, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.

Ransom Everglades has already played their next match, a 17-5 defeat against Gulliver Prep on the 12th. As for Colonial Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 21-20 win against Hialeah Educational Academy on the 13th.
