Basketball Recap: Tyler Weddington and Zade Rash Secure Win for Phelps

Phelps saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came out on top against the Scott Skyhawks by a score of 74-66.

Leading Phelps to victory were Zade Rash and Tyler Weddington. Rash went 8-for-13 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds, while Weddington dropped a double-double with 19 points and 22 boards. Weddington's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Toby Adese, who posted ten points and five rebounds.

Scott lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Colin Williamson, who went 6-for-15 en route to 24 points in addition to five boards and three steals. He has been hot, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Tyler Walls was another key player, putting up 18 points and five assists.

The win got Phelps back to even at 11-11. As for Scott, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

The future could be bright for both Phelps and Scott: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Phelps will try to hand Fairview their fifth-straight loss when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Scott will look to extend Point Pleasant's three-game losing streak when the meet at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
