Basketball Recap: Maya Takes a Loss

Maya was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Bella Vista College Preparatory School Bears 70-33. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Bears are ranked 11th).

Maya's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Bella Vista College Preparatory School, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

Maya has already played their next contest (against Empower College Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Bella Vista College Preparatory School will challenge Riviera Prep on Thursday.
