Basketball Recap: Laurel Victorious

Laurel hadn't done well against Woodbridge recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Laurel Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Woodbridge Raiders 39-37. While the Bulldogs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Laurel's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-5. As for Woodbridge, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Laurel will square off against Seaford at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Seaford has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 186 points over their last three matches. As for Woodbridge, they will challenge Delmar at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
