Basketball Recap: Meigs County Comes Up Short

Meigs County lost against Tellico Plains back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The matchup between the Meigs County Tigers and the Tellico Plains Bears didn't end well, with the Meigs County Tigers falling 74-56. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 320th, while the Bears are ranked 41st).

Despite the loss, Meigs County still got an impressive performance from Brody Goines, who went 7-for-11 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Davis, who posted ten points and eight boards.

Meigs County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-21 record this season. The victory was the sixth in a row for Tellico Plains, bringing their record for this year to 24-2.

As of now, neither Meigs County nor Tellico Plains have any future games scheduled.
