Softball Recap: Indian Land Takes a Loss

Indian Land suffered their biggest defeat since May 10, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against the Catawba Ridge Copperheads, falling 18-3. The Warriors have struggled against the Copperheads recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Layla Crandall led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run. Another player making a difference was Logan Thomas, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.

Indian Land's loss dropped their record down to 4-3-1. As for Catawba Ridge, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 12-0.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Indian Land will face off against rival Clover at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Catawba Ridge is set to take on their familiar foe Nation Ford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Catawba Ridge 1.4, Nation Ford 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
