Soccer Game Preview: Inola vs. Locust Grove

The Inola Longhorns will challenge the Locust Grove Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Inola's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Inola fell victim to Regent Prep and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against Regent Prep, falling 7-0.

Meanwhile, after soaring to seven goals the game before, Locust Grove was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They lost 7-1 to Dove Science Academy. Locust Grove haven't had much luck with Dove Science Academy recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Locust Grove's goal came courtesy of Zander Messer, who's now up to five this season.

Locust Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Inola, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Inola took their win against Locust Grove when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0 score. Will the Longhorns repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
