Football Recap: Mount Vernon Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Mount Vernon lost against West Potomac back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Majors were beaten by the Wolverines 42-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Majors have suffered against the Wolverines since November 4, 2016.

West Potomac had a senior duo take command as Zion Blackwell rushed for 76 yards and one TD and Ben Knapp threw for 106 yards and one touchdown while completing 85.7% of his passes.

Mount Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for West Potomac, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Vernon will venture away from home to face off against Freedom at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Potomac, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against South Lakes at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th.
