Basketball Recap: Gray Stone Day Takes a Loss

Gray Stone Day was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 67-5 defeat at the hands of the Albemarle Bulldogs. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-3.

Albemarle had a senior duo take command as Amari Baldwin dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 steals and Jasmine Brown went 10 of 12 on her way to 22 points along with eight boards and three steals. Baldwin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 41 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Karrington Baldwin, who posted ten points.

Gray Stone Day's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Albemarle, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-4.

Gray Stone Day didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 39-34 win against South Stanly on the 24th. Albemarle has also already played their next game, an 80-13 victory against North Stanly on the 24th.
