Softball Recap: Northampton Comes Up Short

Northampton lost against Nandua last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Yellowjackets came up short against the Warriors, falling 14-4. The Yellowjackets just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Ortavia Rogers was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kelsey Hearn, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Northampton's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Nandua, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northampton will welcome Mathews at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.07 runs per game on average), something the Yellowjackets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Nandua, they will host Salisbury Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Nandua is facing Salisbury Christian at the right time seeing as Salisbury Christian is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
