Basketball Recap: Morgan Park Takes a Loss

Morgan Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Lane Tech Champions and fell 63-28. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while the Champions are ranked 112th).

Lane Tech got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Grace Bush out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Emily Rue, who went 5 of 10 en route to 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and six blocks.

Morgan Park's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Lane Tech, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-11.

Morgan Park will welcome Whitney Young at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Whitney Young is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.1 points per game this season. Lane Tech has already played their next match (against Jones), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
