Softball Game Preview: Lockhart vs. Cedar Park Timberwolves

Lockhart will venture away from home to challenge the Cedar Park Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lockhart has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 28.

Hays hit Lockhart with a seven-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. Lockhart lost 12-1 to Hays.

Lockhart saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sabrina Araiza, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Araiza has hit this season.

Meanwhile, Cedar Park hadn't done well against Rouse recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Timberwolves narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Raiders 6-4.

Ellie Massey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits.

At the plate, Sara Vazquez was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.

Cedar Park's record now sits at 9-13. As for Lockhart, their loss dropped their record down to 5-22.

Lockhart came up short against Cedar Park when the teams last played back in March, falling 15-11. Can Lockhart avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
