Football Recap: Cairo Skates Past Cook with Ease

Cairo won the last time they faced Cook and things went their way on Friday too. The Syrupmakers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Hornets 42-12. The Syrupmakers pushed the score to 35-12 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hornets had little chance of recovering from.

Despite the defeat, Cook saw an underclassman step up: freshman Dawson Davis rushed for 102 yards and one touchdown.

The win got Cairo back to even at 2-2. As for Cook, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

After each having a week off, Cairo and Bainbridge will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on the 26th. This will be the Syrupmakers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Cook, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 38-0 victory against Irwin County on the 19th.
