Softball Recap: Belton Has No Trouble Against Waco

While Belton put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Waco. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Lions. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won eight in a row.

Hailey Schutz was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andalyn Logan, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Schutz wasn't the only one making solid contact: Belton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.

Belton picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 9-12. As for Waco, they dropped their record down to 3-8-1 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Belton will venture away from home to challenge Lake Belton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Waco, they will face off against Ellison at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
