Flag Football Recap: Resurrection Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Resurrection's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 14-6 victory over the Mother McAuley Mighty Macs. The win was some much needed relief for the Bandits as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Resurrection didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Emily Verdon led the group effort, picking up three of those interceptions all by herself. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one interception the last three times she's played. Hernandez got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Resurrection's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Mother McAuley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Resurrection didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 39-0 loss against Loyola Academy on the 1st. As for Mother McAuley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 31-20 defeat against St. Laurence on the 1st.
