Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls vs. Batavia Bulldogs

The Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls will head out to square off against the Batavia Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Mt. Healthy turned things around against Northwest on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 34-13 margin over the Knights.

Meanwhile, Batavia had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.2 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. They breezed by the Silver Knights to the tune of 55-22. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Batavia has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Mt. Healthy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-14.

Mt. Healthy came up short against Batavia when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 36-23. Can Mt. Healthy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
