Softball Recap: Riverside Beats Cross County for Their Fifth Straight Win

Riverside came tearing into Monday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Cross County Thunderbirds as they made off with a 17-3 win. The Rebels have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Thunderbirds, too.

Riverside's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Cross County, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverside will head out to square off against Corning at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cross County, they will venture away from home to challenge Palestine-Wheatley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
