Soccer Game Preview: Catalina Foothills vs. Maricopa

The Catalina Foothills Falcons will take on the Maricopa Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Catalina Foothills will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.

Catalina Foothills is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Vista Grande a 10-0 shutout on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won six matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Vista Grande from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Luca Celi led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Maricopa entered their game against Pueblo on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Maricopa fell just short of Pueblo by a score of 1-0.

Catalina Foothills pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three contests. As for Maricopa, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-2.

Everything went Catalina Foothills' way against Maricopa in their previous meeting back in January of 2015, as Catalina Foothills made off with a 4-0 victory. Will Catalina Foothills repeat their success, or does Maricopa have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
