While North Daviess's win against Bloomfield wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Cardinals 3-2 on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won four in a row.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (97-82) North Daviess actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 8-25, 9-25, 25-18, 25-17, 15-12.

Their offense was headlined by Alexis Tolbert and Adalyn Smith, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Ella Woodruff and her 11 assists. Tolbert was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

North Daviess now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Bloomfield, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

North Daviess has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Vincennes Rivet on the 23rd. As for Bloomfield, they will face off against Bedford North Lawrence at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
