Preview: Keystone Wildcats vs. Black River Pirates
Keystone has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Black River Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keystone will be strutting in after a victory while Black River will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, Keystone blew past Brookside, posting a 66-27 victory at home. Given Keystone's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Brookside is ranked 352nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Brooklyn Barber, who scored 24 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessica Forthofer, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 60-31, which was the final score in Black River's tilt against Columbia on Friday.
The losing side was boosted by Paige Kaltenbaugh, who scored 7 points along with 10 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Madison Jenkins, who scored 3 points along with 8 rebounds.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Keystone's win pushed their record up to 3-0, while Brookside's defeat dropped theirs down to 0-3.
Keystone strolled past Black River in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 51-35. Will Keystone repeat their success, or does Black River have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
