Basketball Recap: Valley Drops Highest Score of Season Against Lee-Scott Academy

If Valley was riding high fresh off their 52-26 takedown of Handley on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rams took a 70-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lee-Scott Academy Warriors on Tuesday. On the bright side, the 63- point effort marked the Rams' highest-scoring contest to date.

Despite the loss, Valley still got an impressive performance from Kayden Dooley, who dropped a double-double with 48 points and ten rebounds. Dooley's evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. K'Leigha Kyles was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Lee-Scott Academy found their leader in sophomore Clarke Ivatt, who dropped a double-double with 33 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Ivatt has scored at least a third of the Warriors' points. Another player making a difference was Sutton Lewis, who posted ten points and eight boards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Valley fell to 3-1. As for Lee-Scott Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley will take on Loachapoka at 4:30 p.m. on the 11th. As for Lee-Scott Academy, they will be playing at home against Auburn at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
