Softball Recap: Clay Takes a Loss

Clay fell victim to Notre Dame and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Titans, falling 7-0. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Clay's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-5. As for Notre Dame, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clay will host Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Jays have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.33 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Notre Dame, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Raceland at 6:00 p.m.
