Baseball Recap: Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let Sarasota Military Academy get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-3 back in February.

The result came thanks to Leif Edoff's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has become a key player for Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 1-2 otherwise.

At the plate, Andrew Cordani was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Five bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Vincent Hernandez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Sarasota Military Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Babcock at 6:30 p.m. on March 25th. As for Sarasota Military Academy, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Sarasota Military Academy Eagles face off against Fulton Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
