League recap: Williams breaks off league-leading run for Cathedral Prep

District 10 Region 6 AAA recap Oct. 9, 2012

Cathedral Prep's Delton Williams rumbled for the longest rushing play in District 10 Region 6 AAA this season in his game against McDowell last week. Williams scampered for 85 yards on the play and finished with 139 on the day as his team defeated the Trojans.

General McLane moved up to 161 from 199 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 62-14 win over East helped the Lancers improve their standing.

Cathedral Prep's dynamic duo of Damion Terry and Williams proved tough for McDowell to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Terry threw for 193 yards and four touchdowns and Williams had 139 yards receiving. Brendan Klemensic helped Cathedral Prep's passing attack out by catching two balls for 21 yards.

Aidan Graham was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 151 yards on eight carries as General McLane topped Mark Soboleski's team. Teammate Logan Weschler added to the ground attack by rushing for 122 yards.

6-foot-4 quarterback Terry of the Ramblers is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1520. He has also thrown 23 touchdowns. On the ground, the Trojans' James Conner has rushed for 715 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Avery Kirksey. The East star has 18 catches for 422 yards.

Cathedral Prep extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating McDowell, 41-27. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Ramblers.
