Basketball Recap: Hixson Wildcats vs. Berean Academy Eagles
The Hixson Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their tenth straight loss. They took a 55-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Berean Academy. While losing is never fun, Hixson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 394th, while the Eagles are ranked 193rd).
Austen Harvey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Berean Academy, scoring 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Wigginton, who scored 12 points.
Hixson dropped their record down to 2-21 with that loss, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Berean Academy, their win bumped their record up to 13-1.
Hixson won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. One thing working in Signal Mountain's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches. As for Berean Academy, they will head out on the road to take on the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
