Rock Canyon has gone 8-1 against Highlands Ranch recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Jaguars will host the Falcons at 4:15 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While Rock Canyon's win against ThunderRidge wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Jaguars had just enough and edged out the Grizzlies 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Jaguars have posted since March 13th.

Jacob Woods looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Rock Canyon: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Zach Perry, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Rock Canyon's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 1-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Shank, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.
Highlands Ranch hadn't beaten Castle View on the road since April 23, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. The Falcons came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sabercats, sneaking past 5-3.
Jackson Tuttle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Ayden Wells was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Joseph Sunstrom, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Rock Canyon now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Highlands Ranch, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Rock Canyon has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Highlands Ranch struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Rock Canyon took their victory against Highlands Ranch in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 17-1 score. Do the Jaguars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
