Recap: East Clarendon Wolverines vs. Manning Monarchs
The East Clarendon Wolverines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 61-29 defeat at the hands of Manning. While losing is never fun, East Clarendon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while Manning is ranked 49th).
Manning's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lovell Stevenson, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Jordyn Thompson was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
East Clarendon's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Manning, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Clarendon will challenge Latta at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Manning, they will head out on the road to face off against Crestwood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Crestwood is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
