Volleyball Recap: Chicago Christian Takes a Loss

Chicago Christian dropped their record down to 18-14 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Timothy Christian Trojans by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in April.

Despite the loss, Chicago Christian still got an impressive performance from Ryan Vanden Bosch, who had 15 digs and two aces. Vanden Bosch has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 13 times he's played.

As for Timothy Christian, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 28th.

Timothy Christian found their leader in sophomore Nate Horne, who had 11 digs. Those 11 digs set a new season-high mark for Horne. Charlie Schommer also deserves some recognition as he had his first dig of the season.

Chicago Christian has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Hinsdale Central on the 17th. As for Timothy Christian, they will host Willowbrook at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
