Preview: Delta Rabbits vs. Manti Templars
Delta has been on the road for four straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Manti Templars at 7:00 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Delta struggled with assists on Wednesday (Emery had 11 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Delta ended up on the wrong side of a tough 62-39 walloping at the hands of Emery. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Delta has scored all season.
Despite their loss, Delta saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Cai Henderson, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Henderson scored a full 30.8% of Delta's points, the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Chase, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Manti pushed their score all the way to 58 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Richfield by a score of 60-58.
Delta bumped their record down to 3-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Manti, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Delta suffered a grim 71-49 defeat to Manti when the teams last played back in February. Thankfully for Delta, Dylan Anderson (who scored 22 points along with four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
