Preview: Edmonds-Woodway Warriors vs. Meadowdale Mavericks
Edmonds-Woodway is 8-2 against Meadowdale since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Edmonds-Woodway Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Meadowdale Mavericks at 8:00 p.m. Hopefully Edmonds-Woodway focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
Edmonds-Woodway suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. Their rough 73-49 loss to Mountlake Terrace might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Edmonds-Woodway can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 164th, while Mountlake Terrace is ranked seventh).
Despite the loss, Edmonds-Woodway saw an underclassman step up: Dj Karl scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Grant Williams, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Meadowdale strolled past Lynnwood with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 58-43.
This is the second loss in a row for Edmonds-Woodway and nudges their season record down to 8-8. As for Meadowdale, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
Edmonds-Woodway beat Meadowdale 50-37 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Does Edmonds-Woodway have another victory up their sleeve, or will Meadowdale turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
