The biggest upset of the week belonged to Lakeview Centennial, who took down 308th ranked Lakeview Centennial, 30-23.
Kent Myers and Corey Mangus provided fans with a highlight when they connected against North Garland. The connection went for 93 yards, the longest such play in 5A Region II District 11 this season.
Sachse's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Myers threw for 318 and six touchdowns and Bruce Brookins had 216 yards receiving. On the ground Devine Ozigbo chipped in 80 yards. Tyrique Edwards helped Sachse's passing attack out by catching three balls for 44 yards.
The Mustangs' Myers and Brookins have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Myers has thrown for 1605 yards this season, while Brookins has 18 catches for 480 yards. DEMARCUS HALL from the Patriots leads the league in rushing with 528 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Lakeview Centennial takes on Sachse. Kendall Miller's team is currently in third, while Mark Behrens's team is in first.
There should be lots of points scored when the Patriots and the Mustangs face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Lakeview Centennial comes in having scored 124 this season, while Sachse has scored 249. The Patriots scored 23 points last week as they lost to Garland.
The Owls moved up to 235 from 345 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 5A Region II District 11. A 30-23 win over Lakeview Centennial helped Garland improve its standing.
