Edison dropped down to 10-3 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Hayfield Hawks, falling 11-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Hayfield, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-3. Considering they have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For Hayfield's part, they got a great performance from Gianna Mariano as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Mariano has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Maddie Souther was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mya Cook, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles.

Edison has already played their next matchup (against Mount Vernon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Hayfield, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-0 victory against Lewis on the 11th.
