Baseball Recap: Marshfield Takes a Loss

If Marshfield was feeling good fresh off their 13-1 takedown of Parkview on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Marshfield fell just short of the Fair Grove Eagles by a score of 4-3 on Saturday. The Bluejays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Marshfield's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-4. As for Fair Grove, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Marshfield will look to defend their home field on Monday against Aurora at 4:30 p.m. As for Fair Grove, they will head out on the road to square off against New Covenant Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Fair Grove is facing New Covenant Academy at the right time seeing as New Covenant Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
