Medford hadn't done well against Whittier RVT recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Mustangs' pitchers stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 1-0 shutout. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Mustangs have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Medford's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Whittier RVT, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-3.
